Friends getting back into the swing of things is not always easy. All I can tell you is your health is well worth it. Things in life change. We all can fall of the wagon. The past 6 or 7 months I've struggled to stay on track with the high activity level I once was at. Work and stress of life got me down. But I know the work I've put in and what I've preached. My visit home to Indiana did me some good. My family is fine but I realize how important it is to stay on top of things health wise, and be active, and make good choices with what we eat as we age.
Don't get me wrong there are days I just don't feel like it... Its fine because that's life and I'm human. Knowing your past and your struggles helps you build a better you and a better tomorrow. I can say about a year and a half ago I was in the best shape I've ever been in. That's the goal... to continually be trying to be in the best shape of my life.
I've been able to do this from home with the help and support of my coach and team!
Change can happen to you too and I want to help you. I'll help you get started or even help you in the middle of your journey. Keep in mind that we are all different but change is possible for EVERYONE. Everyone's health matters...
I would be honored to work with you - When you're ready, as your friend, your Health and Fitness Coach - I will work hard right along with you - helping you meet your goals, one step at a time, one meal at a time, one workout at a time. Let's get healthier together! When you are ready, I am here.
Have an awesome day!!!

Shakeology and me
What is Shakeology? Well where do I begin...
First its a nutrient dense shake made of more than 70 different ingredients from around the world. Over 70 ingredients were chosen for Shakeology because of their potency and the ability to deliver the nutrients your body needs( bioavailability). Here are the key nutrient groups that these ingredients deliver:
- Protein and Essential Amino Acids to help build long, lean muscles and reduce food cravings
- Prebiotics and Digestive Enzymes, which aid in improving digestion, regularity, and nutrient absorption
- Antioxidants and Phytonutrients to help counteract free radical damage that can lead to degenerative diseases
- Vitamins and Minerals your body needs to function for optimal health.
Some of the benefits from all these:
• Help build and repair muscles
• Reduce hunger and food cravings
• Help keep blood sugar steady
• Promote healthy skin, hair, and nails
• Support brain function to help promote alert thinking and well-being
• Support your immune system to help you stay healthy and strong
For me I try not to miss a day. When I travel i take it with me, that is how important to me it is. I can say I've been much healthier over the course of the last 4 years.
The expense has been worth it for me. I work with collage age kids that talk about the price. First I can tell you collage age kids spend far more in alcohol and going out to eat in a month than what a bag of Shakeology costs. I work in a mall and the average cost of a meal is well over $6 multiply that by say 5 days in a week and then by 4 weeks. Wow you're now right at the price of a bag of Shakeology. Now if the price still gets you there are ways to get discounts on it. I'll only touch on those. First is become a Home Direct customer this will save you in shipping costs. Second is become a club member this will save you 10% on all products. The last is become a coach which will in turn save you 25%. Now with all this there is also a bottom of the bag guarantee if you're not happy.
For me Shakeology is great for me in terms of time and preparation. Its also the one meal a day I can guarantee I'm getting all the nutrients my body needs. I feel better when I'm on it,and for me it does what it says it does. Will it do the same for you? There's only one way to find out.
Give Shakeoloy a try!

You did P90X and got no results?
I am asked frequently if programs like P90X and Insanity work. The simple answer is yes they do work, but there is and underlying part to how they work. It's not just about the workout. You see most want to have the results they see in the infomercials. However they don't always want to do what is necessary to get those results. Often when you mention to them that the program is 6-7 days a week and that you have to eat right is when you reveal their true desire.I often tell people the workouts are the easy part, and most that start find this to be true after a couple of weeks. The hard part is the nutrition. When someone tells me they are not getting results, the first thing I think of is nutrition. You see when I started P90X I had the same mentality as some do. I'm putting in the work so I can eat how I want. I got results, just not astounding results. I have seen this time and again by people I know. You justify your nutrition by the hard workouts your doing, then get upset because the results are not what was expected. The hard work in the workout is canceled out by the poor nutrition. They go hand in hand. Poor nutrition is not just about eating the wrong stuff . It may be a situation that you are eating the right kind of food but you may not be eating enough. I worked with someone once that laughed when I told them they were not eating enough and needed to eat more. It's very simple 500-1000 calories in a day is not enough to fuel your body with a program like P90X or Insanity, and probably not enough for most regimens. You must eat to lose weight, fuel your body for your workouts.
The reality of any good program is that nutrition is the key. Like the saying goes "you can't look like a million bucks if your eating off the dollar menu." After doing the Ultimate Reset and continuing to eat very similar I can tell you nutrition is so key. You must put in equally hard work on your nutrition.
Your nutrition and the workouts are the one two punch in the battle of the bulge. To have a great body you have to have both.
So does P90X work? Yes, the real question is... how are you going to work to make it work for you?
Always remember...

Combat Journey and Round 2
I have completed the 60 days of Les Mills Combat. In the process I have dropped 10 lbs. in the past 60 days and gotten much leaner. Overall review is that anyone can do this workout and I recommend it to all. All the modifications are great for the beginners. This has got to be one of my favorite of all time.
So today is day 6 of round 2 Combat. Still absolutely love this workout. I'm still looking to get leaner but am happy at the weight I'm at. I have to say the tools and cooking from the Reset helped in my journey so much. Looking forward to these next 54 days and beyond!
Keeping it real and Staying with the FIGHT!

Combat weight in the New Year
Tomorrow is New Years Eve! Ah the new year, for most a time to start fresh and start new years resolutions. For most or at least a large percentage, weight loss or health and fitness will be at the top of resolutions. I guess for me I don't have much of a resolution. I just want be better in all areas of my life than the year before. I don't need leaps and bounds although I won't complain if it turns out that way. I'll still be happy with small improvements.
For those that are reading and are fitness revolution minded, I have a new work out to start the new year.
The new workout is Les Mills Combat. Its the newest in the ever expanding line of workouts by Beachbody. Combat is a 60 day workout based on mixed martial arts and uses explosive fat-burning, strength-building moves from 6 major martial arts disciplines. The disciplines include; karate, tae kwon do, boxing, muay thai/kickboxing, capoeira, and jiu-jitsu. Combat comes in three different package options. Base kit which is just the basic DVDs, Supreme Warrior Package which comes with DVDs and training gloves, and Ultimate Warrior Package which comes with DVDs, gloves, and four additional workouts. Also if you order through a coach (me), you get a bonus DVD (Combat 30: Live). This program should be lots of fun for those that really liked kenpo in P90X or capoeira from Rev Abs. Combat is also for those at a beginning fitness level looking to enjoy fun, energetic moves that ramp up their cardio, burn off their fat, and lean out their muscles.
I have been looking forward to starting this program. I will be doing the Ultimate Warrior schedule. I am just coming off two rounds of Body Beast and am looking forward to getting back into the extra cardio. After the Ultimate Reset I went straight into Body Beast and gained fifteen pounds. The extra size is nice but I know my cardio and flexibility took a small hit. Tomorrow starts my new year off and its time to lean out. I'll keep you posted and as they say on the videos "Stay with the Fight".

Ultimate Reset Complete
The last time I blogged about the Ultimate Reset I was on day 6, now I am one week out of finishing it. My 21 day journey ended well and was enjoyable for me. If you would have asked me two years ago if I'd ever go vegan I would have said "that's crazy and no way". Well times have changed in terms of my fitness and my mind set about eating.
So how did I do it, Mr. never going to try being a vegan. Well the program is very well laid out with what to eat on each day. It was really more about the mental rather than the physical with this. The one thing for sure is I am always determined to finish a workout program, therefore this time I took the mind set that this was really just another workout program but this time it was for my insides. I didn't starve myself, I didn't lose muscle mass, and I didn't become sickly looking. What I did was become as of today is 13 lbs. lighter and feeling healthy, and also much more conscious of what I put into my body to fuel it.
I would recommend the Reset for anyone. It is getting some outstanding and astonishing results, with some dropping their cholesterol by as much as 40 points. The main thing is to keep an open mind and be willing to try new foods. I tried and liked foods that before I would never imagined I would be eating. The menu was very good and it taught me how to prepare food to be very simple and flavorful. There are things I am still cooking and will be a part of my normal nutrition regimen from now on. Along with the food, the new Vegan Chocolate Shakeology is amazing and is my new favorite.
This was not a huge transition for me because I ate fairly healthy to begin with. My advice is do your homework about the Ultimate Reset. I did my homework and listen to others that had done this before I did and had such a great support group through each phase of it on Facebook. My friend dropped out after 3 days due to not reading up on this and really seeing what he had to do. I'm here to tell you, you will have to prep and cook and again be willing to try new things. If your not use to that this will be an adjustment for you but it shouldn't be a road block.
There are so many valuable lessons to learn from an experience like this that you owe it to yourself to give it a go. What have you got to lose except some bad habits and maybe a few pounds and possible points off your counts.
